Talking of Old music - want to hear them from all over the world

My close ones know of my penchant for old Hindi Music. Some years back I got a few of them recorded on tapes from a 2 in 1. I would be listening to old songs from the radio and whenever the favourite ones were played I'd switch on the recording button. They are so melodious. Then came CDs and others and the tapes were forgotten. I became a bit computer savvy and ventured into youtube one day. And lo those songs were there with the scenes - I mean the music videos. I was top of the world. I started "discovering" the songs and scenes with the actors and actresses. It was such a nice feeling. Now I have got my own playlist of those oldies. The years passed on.
A new maid has managed to lay her hands on those tapes and continuously plays them morn till night. That way I also get to hear the songs whenever at home. Every time I hear them, I get the same feelings as I got when I first heard them 40 years back. They are so melodious, so soothing.

Looking at my behavior my younger sister once commented that I discard a new song but take fancy to it when it's 10 years old. Whatever, melodious tunes are just too much for me. I get lost totally.

Now, music everywhere is the same. The flute tunes of the Incas and the Mayas I had heard at the Canadian Museum of Civilization at Ottawa resembled the ones we have in the Santhal (the pre-Aryan tribes in India) tunes of Chotanagpur and other places here. They are derived from nature – the common source – be it a bird’s chirping or the flow of a hilly stream.

So I'd welcome some melody suggestions from across the globe- whatever be the language- Spanish, German, Italian, French, Chinese and others. I’ll enjoy them as much as you do.

As I complete 53 today

The first thoughts are of Thanksgiving to the Almighty and to my Parents in Heaven. It has been a wonderful journey so far - the journey of life. With so much to do, it is indeed a very short period. We need to come back again and again. But who knows - the journey to other parts of the Universe could be equally interesting. So it is best to leave it to His designs.

As the birthday cake was being cut at office yesterday (Friday) in advance, I was telling my colleagues - that I have to grow one year younger to keep pace with the new entrants in the organization. And that will be the same for the next few years at office. The new guys this year are my elder son's age. So far it has been so good. The energy level has played well. Hope to continue with the same spirit for the next 27 quarters.

The best part is that I came in contact with you. You means everyone I have interacted with so far. And there are so many with whom I have not interacted personally but still they have impacted me so much. A big Thank You to ALL of you wherever you are. I am so proud to be a WORLD citizen.
